The Dillard Doctrine

Urban Conservative Commentary on Politics & Life

Apparently, our good president is a bit confused on who the enemy actually is.

During an interview with Al-Arabiya, President Obama said this:

“My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy,” Obama said in an interview with Al-Arabiya, the Dubai-based satellite television network. “We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”

Now, don’t get me wrong, we’re not fighting the entire Muslim world. Contrary to public (liberal?) opinion, the Global War on Terror ain’t the Crusades. But we are an enemy of some in the Muslim world, and that’s not of our own doing (emphasis added):

The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies–civilians and military–is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty God, “and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together,” and “fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God.”

This is in addition to the words of Almighty God “And why should ye not fight in the cause of God and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated and oppressed–women and children, whose cry is ‘Our Lord, rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will help!'”

We — with God’s help — call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. We also call on Muslim ulema, leaders, youths, and soldiers to launch the raid on Satan’s U.S. troops and the devil’s supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them so that they may learn a lesson.

Maybe it’s just me, but if someone told me it was their religious duty to kill me and “plunder” my money (the little I got), I’d consider them and everyone that thought like them my enemy and would fight them as they fought me. They’d get the same bitterness back from me that they offered to me, and I damn sure wouldn’t be extending them any olive branches. You want war, it’s war you’ll get.

Seems, though, it’d be more fun to fight the opposition party than those who’ve sworn to, you know, kill you:

President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

Let me get this straight: the President of the United States is taking time out of his schedule to go after a talk radio voice that he doesn’t agree with, but is willing to extend an offer of friendship to a element of a population that-without sugarcoating-wants us dead.

Anything about that seem off to you?

Barry is correct that USA is not perfect. However, we’re a lot better than the Middle East. When will an Arab leader do such a gesture on U.S. television? We won’t see it, because they don’t beg and look weak. I gotta agree with Coby, a black conser…
