RPV Convention ’09

So the convention’s over, and we’ve got a great ticket of candidates for this fall’s elections.

Since I didn’t get to write much over the course of the convention (except tape up signs, make laps around the Richmond Coliseum, hand out cards to potential volunteers, and pull down same signs!), I yield the floor to some of the bloggers I met over the course of the weekend and their reports.

Cargosquid from United Conservatives of Virginia, a fellow sailor,

BiasedGirl from With Bias, one of those Tea Party people,

Justin Hart over at Too Conservative,

SWAC Girl, who I pop in on from time to time,

And last but not least, the guys and girls over at Bearing Drift.

At the end of the convention, the RPV presented a resolution in support of the Tea Party Movement. More on that later on (though a response is already on the streets)…

All considered, a good weekend…even if it was a working weekend for me. Met a lot of good friends (many for the first time) and caught up with some older ones. Also met a lot of local candidates for state offices…good friends Rusty McGuire and Mike Gage, Ernesto Sampson (running in South Richmond where I grew up), and John Amrial, a fellow sailor who’s running in my district in Norfolk. On the congressional side, there’s Chuck Smith (running for the 2nd District next year) and Bradley Rees (running in the 5th).

Definitely energized about our Party, our ticket, and our chances for this fall. We’re looking really good…and that’s probably an understatement.
