A Revocation of Freedom

From the San Francisco Chronicle:

Group protests Marine recruiters in Berkeley

Emboldened by this week’s show of support by the Berkeley City Council, anti-war protesters on Thursday cranked up their noisy effort to throw the U.S. Marine Corps recruiters out of town, but in the pounding rain it was hard to tell who won the figurative battle of wills.

The council voted late Tuesday to give Code Pink a designated parking space directly in front of the recruiting station, as well as a sound permit for once-a-week protests. It also approved a separate resolution calling the military recruiters “uninvited and unwelcome intruders” and declaring that the office – which opened quietly in December 2006 – is not welcome in the city.

Well, fine. On behalf of a vast majority of Americans, I revoke the American citizenship of all the residents of Berkeley, CA. I demand the return of all federal and state funding within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in an invitation to al-Qaeda and other radical islamists to come in and establish sharia law in your city.

Since you don’t wish to support the efforts of those whose sole purpose is to protect and defend your very right of free speech, I invite you to experience life under the people we fight against.

A policy statement: Local governments who do not wish to support our military recruiters in the efforts to support and defend this country should give back all federal and state funding. If they resolve that the military is not welcome in their city, they should also resolve that terrorists and radical islamists are welcome-and be prepared to suffer the federal government’s consequences of making such a declaration.

And I assure you, those consequences won’t be pretty.

Dissent is American. Trying to toss those who protect your right to do it is stupid.

Good luck, Berkeley.
